Redbanded leafroller - Argyrotaenia velutinana (Walker)
Home > Pest management > redbanded leafroller
Redbanded leafrollers feed on fruit and foliage. Adults start to emerge around green tip; larvae of this generation are present early May to mid-June.

Monitoring: Monitor adult activity with pheromone traps.
Redbanded leafroller adult Redbanded leafroller larvae Damaged fruit
Adults have distinct red-brown bands on the forewings that form a V-shape when at rest. Wingspans range from 12-18 mm. Larvae are green with a green head capsule, and reach about 16 mm at maturity. Larvae that have fed on fruit, develop a yellow tint. Fruit injury is usually shallow with ragged edges and thick, corky tissue over the damaged area. RBLR is generally controlled with sprays applied for other pests.
