Adults: Many color forms exist, ranging from yellow to red.
May or may not have black spots on the elytra. Diagnostic feature is the white pronotum with a black M or W pattern depending on the viewing direction (see photo). Length 7-8 mm.
Larvae: Covered with tiny, flexible spines. Orange lateral stripes and four central orange spots.
