Strategic Planning - Michigan State University IPM Program

Program planning and review are critical to our desire to move forward and best utilize our resources.

In December 2003, the IPM Program sponsored a planning session designed to gain advice on our activities and future direction. Participants included representatives from MSU, agencies (EPA, NRCS, Michigan departments of Agriculture and Environmental Quality), commodity groups, growers, and consultants. The planning session was followed by a review team visit in April 2004. The review team was chaired by Dr. Eldon Ortman (USDA CSREES), and members were Harold Coble (USDA CSREES), Walt Stevenson (Univ. Wisconsin), Jerry DeWitt (Iowa State University), Amy Frankmann (Chair of the Michigan IPM Alliance and Executive Director of the Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association), and Ken Rauscher (Director of the Pesticide and Plant Pest Management Division, Michigan Department of Agriculture). (View recommendations and MSU administrators response.)

October 2004 - MSU administrators reviewed the recommendations and provided a response.

The MSU IPM Program maintains this site as an access point to pest management information at MSU. The IPM Program is administered within the Department of Entomology, fueled by research from the Michigan Agricultural Experiment Station, delivered to citizens through MSU Extension, and proud to be a part of Project GREEEN.
